We take our name, and inspiration, from the prehistoric and early medieval capital of the Kingdom of Northumbria, only 4 miles from Wooler, ‘Ad Gefrin’ (Yeavering).
Ad Gefrin, ‘near the hill of the goats’, was home to a wooden grandstand and the great feasting halls of the Kings of Northumbria. Ad Gefrin was a place of community, for gathering, debate, and celebrating. This celebration, and strength of community and togetherness, is at the core of our spirit.
